Il "Pig" non era certamente progettato per essere bello anche se si trattava di un brillante esercizio di aerodinamica.
Originariamente destinata a debuttare nella livrea Martini, la leggenda narra che dopo che il Conte Rossi diede un'occhiata all'auto da corsa dalla forma insolita, si rifiutò di lasciarla correre nelle famose strisce rosse e blu.
La Porsche decise quindi di utilizzare la livrea rosa da macellaio per assicurarsi che non passasse inosservata in pista.
Sebbene fosse un'auto da corsa sperimentale one-off, la Porsche 917/20 "Pink Pig" (o Truffle Hunter) divenne una leggenda per la sua sorprendente partecipazione al Le Mans del 1971.

Originally set to make its debut in Martini livery, legend has it that after Count Rossi took a look at the unusually shaped racing car he refused to let it race in the famous red and blue stripes.
Porsche then decided to go with the pink butcher-style livery to make sure it didn't go unnoticed at the race track.
Although it was a one-off experimental race car, the Porsche 917/20 "Pink Pig" (or Truffle Hunter) became a legend for its surprising participation at the 1971 Le Mans.
