La Peugeot 205 era sempre un'auto più grande della somma delle sue parti.
Uscita per la prima volta negli anni '80, è considerata l'auto che ha fatto girare la fortuna di Peugeot. Più di 5 milioni sono stati prodotti in 15 anni e ne puoi ancora vedere alcuni oggi.
Il 205 T16 era la versione stradale prodotta per scopi di omologazione, che ha reso possibile il gruppo B Peugeot Talbot Frankenstein da 500 CV. Questo è stato quando i supermini 205 davvero mostrarono i suoi denti diventando immediatamente l'auto da battere nella competizione.
Nelle mani di alcuni dei più grandi piloti Finn, come Vatanen, Salonen e Kankkunen, avrebbe dominato gli ultimi due anni del rally del Gruppo B contro favoriti come Audi, Lancia e Ford e rimase rilevante in altre competizioni come Parigi - Dakar per molti anni a venire.

The Peugeot 205 always was a car bigger than the sum of its parts.

The 205 T16 was the road version produced for homologation purposes, that made the 500 hp Group B Peugeot Talbot Frankenstein possible. This was when the 205 supermini really showed its teeth immediately becoming the car to beat in the competition.
In the hands of some of the greatest Finn drivers, like Vatanen, Salonen and Kankkunen it would go on to dominate the last two years of the Group B rally against favorites like Audi, Lancia and Ford and stayed relevant in other rally competitions like Paris-Dakar for many years to come.
